Ngai Tuhoe to initial Deed of Settlement

Ngai Tuhoe is due to initial a multimillion-dollar Deed of Settlement at Parliament on Friday.
Tuhoe and the Crown reached an agreement in September 2012 on a package, which includes a Crown apology and an acknowledgement of Treaty of Waitangi breaches.
It also involves redress worth about $170 million, which includes its part of the Kaingaroa Forest near Rotorua.
The settlement will lead to the creation of legislation placing Te Urewera National Park under a new Governance Board, which will have an equal number of Tuhoe and Crown representatives.
The ceremony is due to get underway at Parliament from 11am.
Once the document is initialled, it will be taken back to the people for ratification.

Best of luck Tuhoe Whanau and please make sure you plan and move quickly to prepare for rapid climate change. Most of all be wise and do not dally as the consequences of getting such preparation measures wrong are dire. Those of you who are young and concerned for your immediate future’s may need to apply pressure upon some of the elderly who are reticent stubborn and sceptical that global warming or rather Mega Death getting warmed up is actually real and deadly and happening now. Note how they are not talking mega disaster stuff towards the end of century stuff as these idiots over here are, but in the now and at any time with two disasters possibly impacting at one time. We can expect the same here. Know this my kin from Tuhoe that no matter what mankind attempts from here on we cannot now slow the acceleration of the cascade process now it has begun in earnest. Those who tell you we can are lying. The best move to collectively survive for the long haul is to work together to preserve not only ourselves today but our young going forward. It is the least we can do.
